This was so good, dude. I look forward to the All Star Game every year. My dad and uncles took me to the ASG in Philly in 2002, and that’s where my love for basketball solidified. I remember Kobe won All Star MVP that year to a booing crowd that hoped AI (my all-time favorite player) would get the trophy. All this to say, thanks for inviting me to remember. I’m excited to read more of your work.
Appreciate the read! ASG in 2002 sounds epic. The first thing that comes to my mind is: JASON RICHARDSON. He was our only hope as Warriors fans for years lol. Saludos
Bro the amount of players the franchise has fumbled is incredibly painful. In my life, we've whiffed on Penny Hardaway (traded for Chris Webber), Chris Webber (left after one season due to conflict with Don Nelson), Vince Carter (traded for Antawn Jamison), Gil Arenas (dipped after his rookie contract cus we couldn't pay him). That doesn't include all the lottery pick busts over 10+ straight years. We were deep in the trenches for a minute lol. I think the reason we embrace Steph so much around here is because we grew up being traumatized by potential that never manifested. I don't think other fanbases really comprehend HOW BAD the Warriors were before Curry walked into that building in East Oakland

J-RICH! I just went back and looked at highlights of that dunk contest and totally forgot Gilbert Arenas was a Warrior then 💀
